Website Development and Management: Certificate

Program Mission
The mission of the Website Development and Management Certificate is to prepare students for careers that require a basic foundation in Website development technology such as Web content manager, social media content developer, Web designer, Web front end developer, Web administrator, and graphic designer, through the use of innovative teaching methods, diverse modes of instruction, flexibility of course selections, and the inclusion of 21st century workplace skills.
Program Learning Outcomes
  1. Communicate effectively in business settings using communication technologies.
  2. Collaborate in a project environment utilizing teamwork skills such as creative problem solving, conflict resolution, and diversity awareness.
  3. Utilize technology to acquire, process and manage information for effective decision making.
  4. Demonstrate mastery of discipline-specific skills in front-end website development and maintenance including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, mobile design, social media, and the manipulation of graphic images.

Web Development Skills in a Focused Format

Web developers are in high demand, working on everything from mobile web apps to responsive websites. It is a powerful combination of HTML/CSS/JavaScript coding with visual design, digital marketing, and technology skills. This certificate will prepare you to create multimedia content for web based mobile apps, social media, and commercial websites. Potential in-demand careers include web content manager, social media content developer, web designer, front end developer, and web administrator.

SUNY Broome is now making it easier than ever to get the skills you need so you can get the job you want. Courses in our valuable Web Development & Management Certificate are offered in a series of 7-week blocks, all fully online! This shorter course format gives students:

  • A balanced schedule:focus on 3 classes at a time, rather than 4 or 5 classes at once
  • Quicker access to advanced skills: progress more quickly through higher level skills in a single year
  • Job readiness: obtain powerful skillsets in an exploding industry
